  • Offering educational visits, volunteer opportunities, and possibly cat-related services that help support the sanctuary’s costs
  • Keeping finances and daily care as transparent as possible, so supporters can see exactly how their help turns into food, medicine, and security for real animals

The Gato Rei Sanctuary is designed to operate on a multi-acre property that allows for comfort, safety, expansion, and meaningful community impact. The ideal space will provide a combination of indoor and outdoor areas where cats can live freely, while also supporting a range of services that help sustain the Sanctuary financially and deepen its value to the community.

PROPERTY SIZE & LAYOUT

The target property size is 5 to 15 acres, providing enough room to create separate zones for different needs:

  • Main Sanctuary Building with climate-controlled rooms, quiet recovery areas, special-needs suites, and open social spaces
  • Outdoor Cat Gardens — secure, enclosed natural spaces that allow cats to enjoy grass, shade, fresh air, and enrichment
  • Medical & Intake Area for new rescues, quarantines, and ongoing medical care
  • Visitor and Community Space for education, classes, events, and services
  • Private Staff/Volunteer Areas for storage, operations, and coordination of daily activities

A property of this size allows the Sanctuary to serve not only as a forever home for rescued cats, but also as a community hub for feline welfare and education.

CAT BOARDING & TEMPORARY ROOM-AND-BOARD
A dedicated boarding facility offers safe, clean temporary housing for cats while their families travel or face emergencies. Live feeds will be available 24 hours a day 7 days a week through our dedicated channels available to guests only, keeping their privacy.
